Shipowners from Greece choose Cyprus

42 Greek shipping companies have registered this year in Cyprus due to the crisis in Greece. This was announced by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Limassol called Costas Galatariotis. The Cypriot fleet consists of more than 1,000 ships and it is the third largest in Europe and the tenth largest in the world. The sector of shipping takes 6% of Cyprus’s GDP. Increase in the number of shipping companies in Cyprus can make a significant contribution to the economic prosperity of Cyprus in the form of value added tax, real estate and other income.
