The Government of Cyprus has officially announced a tender for the privatization of the Limassol’s port – the main “sea gates” of the country, accounting for 80% of passenger traffic and 70% of ships passing through Cyprus.
The Ministry of Communications and Public Works, acting as an organizer of the tender, encourages all potential participants to express their interest officially if they wish to invest in different types of services at the Limassol port. The deadline for submission of bids is 12th August. Authorities said that there are three long-term contracts available for the commercial exploitation of container objects, multipurpose terminal, which includes a passenger room, and marine services. Completion of the privatization process is expected at the end of the 1st quarter of 2016.
