The company announced this immediately after signing contracts with ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum earlier on Wednesday 5 April.
The first in the line for drilling is block 11, where the deposit “Onisforos” is located, told the news portal Cyprus Mail with reference to the words of Eleanor Rowley, head of the Total Exploration Department for North Africa and the Middle East.
Total and the Italian company ENI won the rights to block 6, and ENI separately – to block 8. The companies also joined forces in block 11. The consortium ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum received block 10.
